Energy Performance Certificates

What is a EPC?

An EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) is an official document that shows how energy-efficient a property is. It provides a rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and includes:

  • Estimated energy costs of the property

  • Recommendations for improving energy efficiency

  • A breakdown of the property’s energy use, carbon dioxide emissions, and heating performance

Why is an EPC important?

  • It's legally required when a property is built, sold, or rented in the UK.

  • It helps buyers and tenants understand energy costs before moving in.

  • It supports landlords and property owners in identifying improvements that could increase the property's efficiency and value.
